PETER THOMAS
Peter Thomas is a book artist, letterpress printer, hand papermaker, and musician (co-founder of the Ukulele Club of Santa Cruz). Their books combine the precision of the fine press aesthetic with the structural creativity found in contemporary artists’ books. Peter and his wife Donna are also authors of “More Making Books by Hand”, “1000 Artists’ Books”, “Anywhere that is Wild”, and “The Muir Ramble Route, which documents their 2006 walk from San Francisco to Yosemite rediscovering and following the route of John Muir’s 1868 first long walk across California. Peter and Donna have intermittently spent the last ten years traveling the country, teaching and lecturing as the “Wandering Book Artists.”
